Disqualification for Adelinde Cornelissen at WEG
Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival (Jazz x Ulft) have been excluded from competing this morning in the beginning of their Grand Prix test in the Kentucky Horse Park. After having 80,5% at the scoreboard after the half passes and the First extended trot Parzival did the reign back in front of the chair of the judges Mr Stephen Clarke, who rang the bell. "I didn't know why but Mr Clarke explained me about the bleeding of Parzival's mouth" Adelinde explained. "On the way back outside the arena the bleeding already had stopped. A steward has investigated the mouth in the stables and it had been a minor nick at the under part of the tongue. Too bad, yes. The more as Parzival until than had been in the best form ever. It's too bad that I haven't been able to show that."
Adelinde until now has had hard times when showing at the other side of the ocean. In 2008 she travelled to Hong Kong as reserve rider and fortunately for her Dutch team mates didn't need to compete to bring the Olympic team silver home. In 2009 she travelled to Las Vegas with some European qualifier wins in het pocket to not compete as Parzival got lame in the trawler from the plane to The Thomas and Mack Centre. And now Adelinde travelled all the way to Kentucky to not actually compete. While al team mates and grooms couldn't keeptheir tears, Adelinde saw the bright sight of life already when commenting: "Las Vegas was much worse. This time I will travel home with a happy, healthy and sound horse, which makes a huge difference. So I am kind of happy ". The good thing also is the reactions of her colleagues, Adelinde said. 'They all felt really very sorry for me. They were kind and confused as well. Which is good to feel."
