IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL DRESSAGE RIDERS, COACHES, JUDGES, ORGANIZERS and SCORERS
We would like to draw your attention to the new rule regarding the marking of dressage test movements. As of January 1, 2011, half marks may be awarded for any test movement as well as in each of the collective marks. Please note that in freestyles, technical marks will continue to be in whole marks. Half marks in freestyles will continue to be accepted only in artistic marks. The rule reference in EC dressage rules will be E9.8.14.

it will be interesting to see how peoples scores will differ with the implementation of this new rule. I for one think the scores will improve. For all the 5's and 6's, if they could all get a half point better that's a huge difference in score. i also think it's a more accurate way of scoring. I am excited to see this change.
