I have been riding for about 25 years, but only seriously for about 15 of those years and I have taken a beak in there too for 4 years while I went to school.

I think two lessons/month is totally enough to get you going again and will give you lots to work on in between. I find when you have a lot of lessons all the time you don't get as much out of "each" lesson per se. They all kind of blend together as one.

I get annoyed at my trainer when she tries to give me lessons all the time. They are not scheduled, but she always tries to help me even while I am riding on my own. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate her more then ever, but sometimes I need some time to digest what it is we are working on, and then work on the excerises at my own pace. I find this gives me a chance to think for myself and be able to make my own decisions. When I have someone in my ear constantly and am being mirco managed, then I tend to get a bit frazzeled. Sorry going a bit off topic here Oh and I have been riding for 5 years.

off and on for 35 years. I too hope to ride into my golden years. I am grateful to be involved in an activity where that can certainly be possible.

Recently I have been riding for only a year. I rode a little bit here and there in my childhood, but mostly just trail rides and the odd summer camp. I always loved horses but my family could never afford one. Now that I am an adult and for the first time in my life am in a place with a disposable income, I purchased a horse last year. I ride about 4 days per week and have lessons once a week.

I have been riding since I was 13 years old. My mom asked me, what kind of sports would you like to do? I said, horseriding!! When I was 17 I bought my first horse.. I was so proud!

Dutchwomen, I think it's so great you bought your own horse yourself. I see so many girls today where their parents are just handing them 50k+ warmbloods and these kids are like 13 years old. And if they don't like the horse, they just get rid of it and buy a new one. I don't know what is happening with the new generation of kids but they are so full of entitlement, spoiled and lazy. Of course there are plenty of exceptions but the sport has changed so much from when I grew up and had to muck barns day in and day out just to be around horses, let alone ride anything.

Don't worry you are not getting old! I am in the 25 year club also and we can't possibly be old! Although I almost do a double take these days when someone asks me how long I have been riding and "25 years" comes out of my mouth. When did that happen??? lol
