Default 2 shoes or 4 shoes?

Right now my horse has two front shoes, nothing on the hind. I would like to start doing more trail rides and am thinking I need to put hind shoes on. How many of you have shoes on all 4 feet? Is it better for the horse? Can you do more trails and road riding? Or will I be okay with just front shoes on?
Thanks!

Unless you are planning to do some heavy duty mountain riding most horses are more then fine with just 2 fronts. If you are doing a lot of road riding, and your horse drags his hind toes, that will wear them down faster but if you are just doing a bit of road riding here and there and then the rest of the time you are on bridle trail I would say don't worry about putting hinds on. Keep it simple.

I agree, I think you are just fine with fronts. It's cheaper too!
