Best time of year for selling horses

Just wondering when people find is the best time of year to sell their horses. I find summer to be quite slow. I don't know maybe people are all on holiday or something?

I have heard that fall is a good time to sell because people have been showing all summer and are looking for a new mount so they can move up a level in the spring and then they have the winter to school and train.

I think summer may not be busy because like you say, folks are away either showing or on holiday.

I find spring time is always a good time. People are looking forward to the good weather and want to start getting out and riding after a long winter. People who don't have an indoor are gearing up to ride again and if you can't ride all winter then why would you want to feed the horse all winter lol. I also find that the people wanting to show in the summer are looking for their show horse in the spring.
