Default How many lessons do you get?

How many lessons do you all get per week, per month, per year,
or not at all?lol

This includes training sessions if you have trainer riding your horse.

I get a lesson 2-3 times per week. Of those times, my trainer usually rides once, maybe twice depending on if there is show coming or if I really need help working something through.

I am lucky if I get one lesson per week, but more often then not it works out to be about every 2 weeks. If money wasn't as tight I would love to have more but it's just not feasable right now. I do love my instructor though because often she gives me extra help if I happen to ride while she is in the arena. She also gives me lots of excersises to do that I can work on, on my own so that helps a lot.

I hear you about the money thing. If my folks did not help me out as much as they do with my horse habbit I don't think I could do half as much. I am in school and work a part time job for extra cash but it does not come close to what I need to fully support my horse, bills and lessons. WHY do horses have to be so darn expensive? lol

They are expensive because their basic needs of care and living are so extensive.

That being said, I get about 2 lessons per week, sometimes more sometimes less. Kind of like strider, I get more if there is show coming up and I want to me more "polished." Usually after a show I will take the next week off from lessons and just hack out as a bit of a reward, especially if the show went well. If the show did not go so well, then I won't drill the parts I flubbed, but I will generally work through them more then I would if there were no problems.

One lesson per week right now. I need them badly because I am new to owning horses so it's not just a riding "lesson" but course on horse husbandry! There is so much to know, I did not realize just how much goes on with owning horses. For those of you that get more then one lesson per week I am jealous. It's so much money though and right now I am just trying to budget the overall costs of owning my own horse.
