Endurance and trail riders, this is your girl! She was forward and keen - but not strong, uptight or spooky. She liked to be in the lead and visibly was more relaxed in front. It is as if she knows her job and she belongs in the front. She got a little sulky when we asked her to walk slowly behind a draft cross horse! She did not get agitated, just sulked! She proved herself to be as close to bombproof as anybody can expect a horse to be. In fact, the draft horse was more spooky than Mirage. Mirage had palm frongs touch her side, birds flew out of the bushes at her, traffic rushed noisily by .. she was completely unphased. She is very aware of her rider and was very careful, sane, smart and brave on the trail. She is a lot of fun. She had energy and if she had been allowed to trot the entire route, and she was physically up to it.. she most definitely would have enjoyed that. An amazing mare .. such class! She is always gentle, very safe, sane and willing. A great attitude but she still needs reconditioning physically. Because she would willingly give her all on a trail ride, we would not want her pushed beyond her current physical limitations. Once she is super fit .. she could probably enjoy riding for hours on end. She is definitely happiest on the trails, she loses some of her charisma and is visibly bored doing school work! We would love to see her go to a person that loves their horses and loves their trails! Mirage is a stunning, bay polish arabian mare. Unfortunately, we do not have her papers. We were informed that her previous owner paid around $15,000 for this mare, plus another $5,000 was invested into her training. She was "put out to pasture" for 5 years. It is our assumption that she has been a broodmare during the past 5 years. Mirage is just as sweet, gentle and loving as she is beautiful and athletic. A real-head turner that draws the attention of every visitor! Mirage is "all girl"! She loves her baths, being groomed and pampered, or just hanging out with people. She is very, VERY people orientated. She is very easy to catch, very sociable! Stands in x-ties very well for grooming, bathing, farrier, vet etc. It is obvious that she was cherished by somebody in her past. She is the more dominant mare in the pasture, however, she has not marked another horse to date. She appears to have enough presence about her that a scowl and pinned ear is enough to send another horse away (thankfully). Mirage loaded easily in my trailer and settles very quickly with new and different challenges. She has a great "can-do" attitude, very willing and easy temperament, she is brave and curious .. just a very classy mare. On her first day of training, she readily accepted a saddle and bridle for the first time in 5 years without the slightest fuss. On her second day of training, she worked obediently on the lunge line, responding instantly to voice commands. On the third day, she allowed me to lay across her back and she stood quietly, like a statue. With the almost daily requests I asked of her, she has answered willingly and politely. If she continues at this pace, she will be back under saddle and working exceptionally well for a quiet, experienced and patient rider. You will see from her video that she has breath-taking movement. Extensions, elevation, suspension .. this girl literally floats! A dressage diva's dream! Being an arabian, and one that appears to be very calm, mature and laid back .. she could also be a wonderful endurance horse for a competitive trail rider, too! As she does not have papers, I do not recommend her as a broodmare! If you are looking for a beautiful, kind, sweet, gentle and loving project horse, Mirage is very affordable at only $1500. Her price will increase accordingly as her professional training continues at Harmony. At 30, 60 and 90 days of professional training, her price will increase incrementally at the rate of $500 per month.
